Giving to the Bioscience, Natural Resources & Public Health Library

How to give

The Life and Health Sciences Library Division at UC Berkeley, which serves the Marian Koshland Bioscience, Natural Resources & Public Health Library, welcomes gifts in all forms. Contributions from private donors and foundations provide funding support toward the acquisition of research materials, the development of services, the conservation of rare books, and the improvement of library spaces for the use of Berkeley faculty and students. This support is very important in sustaining the excellence of our collections and services.

Donating books, journals, or other items

Gifts of scholarly and professional materials represent a significant element in the development of our outstanding research collections. We welcome individual gifts of books and journals; due to space and staff limitations, we must be judicious in accepting large contributions. Please contact Brian Quigley about any materials you wish to donate. Donors should be aware that the materials offered may be duplicates or outside the scope of the collections. In this case, materials may be sold, and the proceeds used to purchase resources for the collections.

Please see our entry about scholarly materials for more information on book donations, including tax and appraisal considerations. The University at Buffalo Libraries maintains a list of international programs to consider for your book donations.

Financial gifts

Financial donations are very important and provide support for books, online resources, datasets, special projects, or library space improvements. Gifts may be unrestricted or support a specific library program, service, or collection. Please see the give now page for more information on giving opportunities.

You can make a donation online directly to the fund for the Bioscience, Natural Resources & Public Health Library.
